Growing to heights of 14 feet or more at maturity, the mighty witch hazel is an incredible anti-inflammatory and astringent. Well-known in the world of skincare, witch hazel’s leaves, young twigs, and bark also offer valuable help in treating stomach distress or poison ivy rash as well.

Plants prefer part sun to dappled shade and thrive as an understory beneath a taller canopy. Though tough and adaptable, these shrubby trees do best in well-drained, silty, acidic soil. Space plants at least 10 feet apart. Volunteers often appear around mature trees.

Our witch hazel seedlings come in 4×6 inch tree pots. For best results, transplant into 1 gallon pots and plant into the landscape in the winter.
