The leaves of stevia are easily dried and powdered in a coffee grinder and used as a sugar substitute. A little dried leaf added to tea makes it just right! This is a tropical herb that is an annual in our climate. Harvesting the leaves throughout the growing season will encourage a bushy upright habit. Stevia loves heat, humidity, and water. Makes a great potted plant but also thrives directly in the garden. Will grow to 2 feet tall and should be spaced 1 foot apart.
